Ashley Vanstone Hashiwaki

I'm an illustrator and animator from Nova Scotia, Canada. I have been practicing art as Ashtree Studio since 2010. My work is primarily based in high fantasy and animal art. Having lived abroad for most of my life in Hong Kong, the USA, and Japan, I wish to bring a diverse perspective and vision to visual art, especially to create scenes that are understandable to people from all parts of the world.

In addition to visual art, I'm passionate about travel, animals, storytelling, and foreign language acquisition and education. I have been teaching English language since 2017 and I enjoy integrating art criticism and art-making into the language classroom. Art is a universal language that can bring us together.
